Wetlands are one of the most important ecosystems on the planet. Unfortunately, up to 70 per cent of wetlands have been lost in settled areas of Canada. More are lost every day. Wetlands do many important jobs for us. They help clean our water. They are home to hundreds of species of wildlife. They protect our communities from flooding and droughts. They store carbon, helping in the fight against climate change. Since 1938, we have been working hard to save Canada’s wetlands. The Research Biologist will conduct applied conservation research in waterfowl ecology and lead the analysis, publication, and communication of research results. They will also provide scientific support to various internal teams and engage with external conservation partners to advance DUC's mission.

The Senior Engineering Technologist will draft and survey earthen dams and water control structures while supporting the team with dam safety inspections. This role involves a balance of office-based documentation and travel to remote field sites for project oversight.

The role involves delivering high-quality visitor services, public education programs, and school programs highlighting the unique resources, wildlife, and themes of the Wetland Discovery Centre. Key duties include engaging with visitors of all ages to help them connect with the natural world through meaningful experiences.
