The City of Grande Prairie provides programs, services, infrastructure and facilities that are the basis for much of the activity in our community. Grande Prairie is the youngest city in Canada with a median age of 30.3 and one of the fastest growing communities in North America. The 2016 federal census recorded 63,166 residents up 13.5% from 2011. The Transit Operator is responsible for safely and professionally operating city buses while providing information and assistance to passengers. They must also perform pre and post-trip inspections, collect fares, and monitor passenger behavior to ensure a safe transit environment.

The Needle Mitigation Worker performs proactive needle sweeps and responds to requests from businesses and residents regarding needle debris. They are also responsible for monitoring disposal bins throughout the community and performing other departmental duties as directed.

The Outreach Worker conducts field-based assessments to identify client risks and provides immediate support for basic needs and service navigation. They also assist businesses and residents with community concerns related to the street-engaged population, such as loitering and public intoxication.
