We are searching for a Casual (no guaranteed hours) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Thomas Hall team based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Additional benefits include: Approximate hourly wage: $35.14 - $39.63 Free onsite parking Access to thousands of perks vendors and discounts through our WorkPerks program, including excellent discounts for apparel, restaurants, technology, fitness, travel, and tickets to some of your favorite sports and entertainment events Access to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of Excellence Opportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Recognition and Rewards for service excellence and safety About The Opportunity Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting and directing resident needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences and internal staff; Providing leadership to health services staff and overseeing provision of quality health services respecting the resident’s right to individualized planning of health services; Working with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance to policies and procedures; Administers and records prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice; Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of residents’ care plans; Maintains the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting; Applies dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy; Assists with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staff About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring: Active registration with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses (ANBLPN); Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays; Availability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter, available to work all shift types and days of the week; A valid CPR & First Aid or BLS Certification (required); Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire; Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset; Any previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care considered an asset; Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset; A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.

Requirements

Applicants must hold active registration with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses and current CPR and First Aid or BLS certification. They must be available for at least six shifts per quarter across all shift types and days, provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector screening, and have advanced English proficiency; long-term care experience and dementia-care coursework are assets.
