We're looking for a SEO Content Strategist on a temporary (fixed term) basis, to help Hootsuite's Inbound Marketing Team dominate organic search results for social media marketing keywords and topics. Reporting to the Inbound Marketing Lead, you'll be working with SEO analysts and freelance writers to edit and create search-optimized content that drives brand awareness, traffic, and leads to the Hootsuite Blog and other web properties.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Play a strategic role in the Hootsuite Blog editorial process, helping to establish keyword priorities, create assignment briefs for freelance writers, edit articles, develop high-impact content, and ensure all content is optimized to rank competitively in search engines and drive acquisition
  • Review and approve content prior to publishing on Inbound Marketing channels to ensure implementation of SEO writing best practices. Provide editorial feedback to internal and external content contributors to promote adoption of those best practices, which will in turn drive more traffic and revenue through our digital content channels
  • Work with other Growth Marketing channels (e.g., search ads, social ads, YouTube scripts, email newsletters, and more) by providing direct response and/or SEO-optimized copywriting and recommendations
  • Analyze content performance to make data-driven recommendations on how to continually improve conversion rates and drive traffic growth for our priority keywords
  • Develop a deep understanding of the social marketing audience in order to influence business decisions and champion their needs across teams and departments
  • Analyze performance data of digital content. Monitor, track, and report on trends—measuring for traffic, trials, and leads in Google Analytics
  • Collaborate with designers (graphic and UX) to optimize the online reading experience and the user journey on Inbound Marketing channels
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Significant relevant experience writing and/or editing for professional online publications or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent editorial judgment and advanced knowledge of SEO techniques and best practices
  • Proven track record of producing search-optimized content that contributes to business results
  • Proficiency with web analytics and SEO platforms (Google Analytics, SEMRush)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and enthusiasm for social media marketing trends, tools, and platforms
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
  • Commitment to Results: consistently achieves results, demonstrating high performance, and challenging self and others to deliver results
  • Creativity and Innovation: seeks new and better ways of doing things, generates original and imaginative ideas, products, or solutions
  • Priority Setting: focuses time/energy on the most important issues/opportunities. Clearly understand how to assess the importance of tasks and decisions

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Tenacious. You are determined to succeed, and you are motivated by the success of customers, colleagues and the community.
  • Curious. You are always learning and seeking ways to make things better.
  • Conscientious. You keep your promises, taking your commitments to others seriously, and you have strong integrity.
  • Humble. You lead with humility and empathy, respecting and learning from the perspectives of others.
