Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Social Media and Marketing Assistant supports the Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham's Development Officer in the coordination of the production, distribution and collection of information about the Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham and its programs to the media, board members, volunteers, employees and the general public. This will be accomplished through e-blasts, e-newsletter articles, advertisements, announcements and maintaining current content on the Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham website and social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, X, Linked In and YouTube).
The Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham supports the Varley Art Gallery as a vital cultural hub in the GTA. Our mandate is to support the Varley Art Gallery's strong visual arts program through our activities and investments. We provide funding to assist with art acquisitions, the conservation of the Gallery's art collection, educational programming and exhibition research. We also administer the volunteer program on behalf of the Varley Art Gallery, providing additional support for their programs and events. On an annual basis, the Varley Art Gallery welcomes over 51,000 visitors that include members of the community who participate in tours, educational workshops, and professional development programs.
