Reporting to the Supervisor of Recreation - Older Adult Services, the City of Cambridge has a temporary opening for the above position available immediately. This position will be responsible for the following duties:
To provide the Friendly Visiting Program to socially isolated individuals (seniors and/or physically disabled adults) in the community.
Checking voicemails, emails and follow-ups with clients, families, volunteers and co-workers
Data inputting into client/volunteer information management systems
Manage client caseload, new referrals, receive client updates, client assessments and intakes, system navigation, etc.
Manage volunteer program, review new applications, in-takes, matching, training, monitoring and evaluation
Without Walls (WOW), Telephone Conferencing program planning and delivery
Conduct home visits
Promotes program in the Community by marketing and promoting on city website
Forecasts and monitors budge related to area along with processing invoicing/purchasing
Planning volunteer orientation sessions, training workshops, and volunteer recognition events.
Maintains statistics.
Assists with annual client and volunteer special events.
Acts as referral/information source for clients requiring additional community services.
2-year Diploma in Recreation & Leisure
Volunteer Management Certificate considered an asset
Principles of Heath Aging considered an asset
Class G Driver's License - this position requires the use of personal vehicle
Two (2) years' experience with seniors and physically disabled adults, and volunteers along with experience/knowledge in the following:
Knowledge of different community agencies and services that provide for seniors and adult with disabilities.
Client Information Management and Volunteer software systems.
Volunteer recruitment, selection, screening, evaluation and training.
Completing one year of quarterly and annual statistics reporting.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Valid current Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED
This position is within Grade 7 of the inside workers union salary schedule and has annual salary of $65,784 to $69,915.
We offer a comprehensive benefit package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.
Standard hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings (35 hours per week). Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings.
