POSITION SUMMARY:

Saint Elizabeth is looking for a student who is passionate about community engagement to support and amplify our social impact programs. If you are passionate about societal issues, love writing, community engagement support, enjoy organization, administrative tasks and planning innovative engagement events, and are committed to bringing hope and happiness through strategies that inspire positive change, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

The position is responsible for supporting internal and external communications, planning, implementing, and monitoring community engagement and volunteer recruitment events. The Community Engagement & Social Impact Assistant will support the Community Engagement & Communications Specialist and Volunteer Services Manager to help to grow and update all Foundation branding, public communications such as newsletters and campaigns, as well as support our online identity through our website and social media. The Community Engagement & Social Impact Assistant will also support assigned administrative tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

· Currently enrolled in a College or University program

· Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

· Thorough understanding of WHMIS requirements and training

· Good understanding of healthcare Infection Controls Practices and Procedures

· Ability to set and adjust priorities and organize work in response to hospice needs

· Ability to work closely with hospice staff including ability to accept assignments, delegation requests and follow instructions

· Ability to organize programming

· Ability to navigate social services

· Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, volunteers, and the hospice staff, both verbal and written

· Passion for hospitality, meal planning, and organization

· Ability to work independently and as part of the team

· Ability to engage community, organize and recruit volunteers
