As a fixed term Oil Heating Technician you will complete jobs requested by our customers and solve their issues through diagnostic troubleshooting, doing routine maintenance on their existing systems and installing new equipment. Your goal will be to provide excellent customer service, ensuring the systems you are working on are safe and operating properly as well as completing your work in a timely and effective manner. Your success is dependent on the quality of work you complete and the satisfaction of our customers' needs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot oil fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters, and tanks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems that occur by reviewing diagnostics and using the proper tools to complete repairs.
  • Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely.
  • Complete appropriate daily paperwork for each service call. Maintain daily and yearly inventory.
  • Ensure the service truck is in good working order and reliable.
  • Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity. Rotational on call evenings and weekends.

Your Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with a customer service focus
  • Ability to install and service various types of heating equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines

Your Experience:

  • A valid Oil Burner Technician license is required, dual licensing (Oil and Gas) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of wiring, plumbing and some air conditioning is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience is preferred.
