JOB PURPOSE

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, provides quality patient care within the scope of professional nursing practice to patients and families in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Critical Care Program. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current BCLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • BCMI
  • Current NANB registration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent medical Surgical nursing experience
  • Recent ICU experience or a Critical Care Course accepted by Horizon Health Network.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis and ability to work flexible schedule (days, evening, nights, weekends, and Holidays
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to care for mechanically ventilated patients
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations and rapidly changing priorities
  • Good work record

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to emergency situations and rapidly changing priorities
  • Prioritizes and delivers complex patient care
  • Administration of IV vasopressors
  • Completes annual advanced nursing competencies related to critical care
  • Performs the duties of the position including ambulance transfers
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of work
