As a Regulatory Reporting Specialist, you will prepare complex reporting for provincial regulatory bodies on all finished products. This is a 12-month term opportunity where you will ensure compliance with new, evolving, and complex finished fuel regulations as well as work to reduce the risk of non-compliance through audit measures. You will also monitor environmental credit holdings and issue internal compliance updates.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide internal and external reporting for domain jurisdictions, including compliance regulatory reports for government agencies and business self-assessments across the supply chain.

  • Execute technical environmental government reports as scheduled throughout the year. Make reporting decisions guided by established policies. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data reported to regulators through standard processes. Maintain organized records in both electronic and hardcopy formats as required by the regulations and to support retrieval.

  • Prepare procedure documents covering reporting activities, including document preparation, execution, storage, and revision of compliance process documents.

  • Monitor compliance credit holdings, identify the opportunity to monetize credits and support the Value Centres on compliance credit strategies and options.

  • Develop a communications strategy related to regulatory reporting in assigned domains.

  • Collaborate with other teams to explain the interpretation of regulations from a reporting perspective.

Your Skills:

  • Able to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor.

  • Very detail oriented; strong eye for accuracy and able to question information to ensure compliance.

  • Able to work effectively within a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations and reporting triggers.

  • Strong understanding of regulation requirements and regulatory processes.

  • Strong analytical and prioritization skills.

Your Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline.

  • 2+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

  • 5+ years of experience reviewing and interpreting government regulations.

  • Experience working with a regulatory agency is an asset.
