Westguard is currently looking for an Scheduler Security and Screening services contract role from This is a contract role from (March 1st 2024 to November 1st 2024). Working with our internal and external stakeholders, the Scheduler oversees the administrative and organizational communication between the office and staff. The Scheduler will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our scheduling, reporting and recruitment functions. The role is fast-paced, and the ideal candidate will be quick-thinking, metrics-orientated and adept at multi-tasking and problem-solving.

What you would do:

  • Scheduling employees while following BC Labor Standards and the CBA.
  • Identifying cost-saving solutions for the company, including reducing overtime hours.
  • Establishing friendly and professional relationships with the workforce.
  • Being the first point of contact for employees and staff ensuring that all concerns & issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Conducting payroll duties, including weekly lockdown of schedules; ensuring that all employees are paid correctly, and clients are invoiced correctly. Coordinate with the payroll department for payroll issues such as vacation pay requests & payroll adjustments.
  • Maintaining client & employee files.
  • Maintaining inventory of uniforms and replenishing accordingly.
  • General office duties include stationary replenishment, invoice approval and general housekeeping.
  • Assisting with HR tasks by coaching & mentoring employees.
  • Delivering material or personnel to specific locations if other means are not available or appropriate due to cost, timing, or the size of the material.
  • Performing other duties and special projects as assigned by direct report or other members of management.

What you bring:

  • 2+ years of Scheduling and/or operations coordination experience
  • Minimum 1 year security experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business administration, human resources, or other related fields would be considered an asset.
  • Enthusiastic and committed approach to customer service.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills with a 'hands-on' problem solving approach and able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly to clients and staff; ability to effectively mediate and intervene in workplace, client, and staff issues.
