The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is responsible for the stewardship of federal port lands at the Port of Vancouver (the "Port"). It is Canada's largest and most diversified port, stretching along 360 kilometres of shoreline and waterways, bordering on 16 municipalities, and intersecting with traditional territories and treaty lands of several Coast Salish First Nations. Annually, $200 billion in goods are traded through the port with more than 170 world economies. The Port of Vancouver manages lands in Metro Vancouver and enables the efficient and reliable movement of cargo and passengers.
As one of the most diversified ports and a significant part of British Columbia's dynamic gateway for trade and tourism, the Port generates an estimated $9.7 billion in GDP and represents a major economic force that continuously strengthens the Canadian economy through international trade. The Port is clearly focused on the operational needs of port users and on its long-term sustainability and competitiveness. The Port's mission is to lead the growth of Canada's Pacific Gateway in a manner that enhances the well-being of Canadians.
The positive evolution of its largest ever infrastructure project has prompted the Port to bring in-house its project leadership in the form of a Director, Roberts Bank Terminal 2 (Project Director). The Project Director is ultimately accountable for leading all aspects of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 (RBT2) development project on behalf of the Port of Vancouver, including leadership of the project team, working across multiple Port departments, as well as engaging with external stakeholders to deliver project milestones and objectives on time and on budget.
You are a seasoned project management professional with a demonstrated track record of success managing significant infrastructure projects with at least $1 billion in scope. Your experience is from a broad-based engineering, consulting, construction, or corporate "owner's" role. Ideally, you bring a balance of progressive private and public sector experience and if you have marine related infrastructure projects, it will be an asset.
Nationally, RBT2 is a significant, blue ribbon project that will provide a lasting legacy enhancing the well-being of Canadians. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for a strong, innovative project management leader to bring vision, leadership, and rigour to build Canada's largest export terminal.
Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is dedicated to employment equity and a workplace reflective of the diversity of its community.
