Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative office duties in support of the operation of The Great Divide Lodge. Such duties include but are not limited to staff accommodation and guest check in/checkout procedures, registering visitors, updating/maintaining files, taking payments, ensuring each guest adheres to the LLSR housing agreement and serving in the bar/restaurant when help is needed. The Front Desk Agent must strive to provide exceptional customer service and a positive guest and employee experience.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure positive guest experience through interaction & satisfaction and resolve guest issues within scope of authority
  • Perform check-in/check-out procedures in an efficient and timely manner
  • Respond to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from customers
  • Provide quotes for room rates and up sell where possible
  • Make reservations and liaise with third party booking agents
  • Keep an inventory of rooms reservations and room assignments
  • Verify correct room charges and collect payment
  • Regularly communicate with Duty Manager to ensure the overall success of the department
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
  • Ensure all cash is balanced and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift (at Front desk or in the Bar/Restaurant)
  • Assist other departments within the Great Divide Lodge as required.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with other departments effectively within GDL and the Lake Louise Ski Resort

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude coupled with a friendly, polite and professional manner
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Must be able to work night shifts and work independently with minimal supervision
  • High level of sound and independent judgement, reasoning, and discretion
  • Experience using Switchboard and the booking system RoomMaster is an asset
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of the hospitality industry, with experience using Electronic POS an asset
  • Cash handing experience is preferred
  • Serving It Right certification asset - to be obtained within 30 days of commencing employment.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • First Aid certificate an asset
  • Strong written and verbal English with a second language considered an asset
  • A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment

Work Schedule:

Must be able to work a rotating roster doing a variety of shifts
