What we are looking for: We are accepting general applications for casual instructors from motivated and talented individuals who are interested in joining our dedicated team. While we may not have a specific opening at the moment, we are always looking to connect with individuals who bring expertise, skills and perspectives to NAIT for potential future opportunities.

We provide a wide variety of courses available both online and in person, with flexible scheduling options including daytime, evenings, and weekends. Course delivery includes both synchronous and asynchronous formats. Hours for casual opportunities may vary.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing direct classroom/lab instruction while utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skill-building environment.
  • Evaluating the learning process: Ensure learning is evaluated in a reliable and timely manner, providing appropriate and timely feedback to students; Submit marks/records promptly.
  • Maintaining professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Responding to student issues.
  • Utilizing appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions ensuring efficient and effective delivery of course materials.
  • Maintaining student attendance and other documentation.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient computer skills are required, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems is considered an asset.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications are program-specific and may include the following:

  • Completion of Grade twelve
  • Related certificate, diploma or degree
  • Related professional registration and/or designation
  • Directly related program experience
  • Combinations of education and experience may be considered
