WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: We are looking for a passionate Concept Artist to join our team. You will create visual materials that guide the creative teams as we work together on an exciting project. You will collaborate with the Art Director, along with the Concept and Environment Art Leads to create concepts that inform all game areas, with a focus on World Art Support. Other areas and responsibilities include: Creating detailed world art concepts Deliver a range of informative drawings to support multiple downstream departments Leveraging your artistic abilities to improve gameplay and the player experience through your understanding of Game Design Demonstrate creativity and passion Proactively communicate and seek out information from a variety of team members and departments WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 3+ years of related experience with a portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of composition, form, shape language, lighting, color theory and material properties Expert level experience with Photoshop Comfortable working from line work to greyscale to flat colour to polish A working knowledge of 3D software packages, with the ability to approach concept work in a variety of ways Ability to work quickly through rough revisions and carry a concept through to final polis Hands-on approach – able to collaborate with team members effectively, both verbally and in written form Experience collaborating with multiple disciplines, including Game Design, Level Design, 3D Artists and Animators WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE: Competitive annual leave and benefits, including discretionary performance bonus program and health coverage Support for mental health, financial well-being, legal assistance and more through our Employee Assistance Program Access to our in-studio gym, and an extensive media library Join a committee – board games, sports, or something else – it’s all here! After that, there is flexibility to work from home, with a requirement of three days per week in our Vancouver studio. The hiring range for this position is $67,000 to $85,000 CAD annually and is subject to change. The final base salary compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
