The Milton Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Interim President & CEO to lead the team. The Milton Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization representing over 700-member businesses and individuals. Reporting to the Chamber’s Board of Directors, the Interim President & CEO will assume complete responsibility for carrying out the day-to-day functions of the Chamber, while ensuring compliance with Chamber bylaws, Board policies, and applicable regulations for federally designated not-for-profit corporations. The Interim President & CEO will direct the implementation of the organization’s events and services. They will be responsible for the management of all required fiscal, legal, and HR responsibilities. Responsibilities: Strategic Direction: Strategic action plan implementation Monitor organizational key performance indicators to track progress and success Board Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors Collaborate and provide counsel to the Board regarding public policy, programs, and other key Chamber initiatives Finance: Manage the overall financial health of the organization Prepare budgets based on a solid financial analysis of the organization with input from staff and the Board Oversee staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial information, payroll, and all accounting functions Community Leadership and Membership: Champion the Chamber as the leading business association in the community Build and maintain close ties with key stakeholders, including community and business groups, and government officials Support membership growth and retention Ensure members are provided with relevant, timely, and engaging events fostering a strong value proposition for membership Help oversee and coordinate all events related to the Milton Chamber of Commerce Advocacy: Advance, monitor, and communicate the Chamber’s non-partisan advocacy priorities Build and maintain strong working relationships with elected and non-elected officials at all levels of government Human Resources: Attract and retain highly competent staff Support and foster a culture that creates positive employee morale, well-being, and high performance from employees Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Post-secondary degree in Business; Public Policy or related field an asset Work experience within a Chamber or equivalent environment a major asset Minimum 2 years’ experience leading a team at a senior level Minimum 3 years’ experience of work with a Board of Directors Demonstrated issues management experience Experience in staff management Experience in stakeholder management Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience with CRM software an asset Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work in person and virtually is required Event planning experience a major asset Strong organizational and time management skills What We Offer Work-life flexibility Hybrid work environment 4 weeks of annual paid vacation Comprehensive health and dental benefits Executive-level career opportunity within a respected community organization An inclusive culture that encourages you to bring your whole self to work Opportunity to contribute to the local community This position is an initial 6-month term contract (Nov-Apr), to cover a parental leave, with the potential for extension. The Chamber welcomes applications from candidates interested in a full-time role as well as experienced executives available on a fractional basis. Work arrangement: Full-time (35 hours/week) or fractional, depending on the successful candidate and the needs of the Chamber. Compensation Range: $100 – $125,000 per annum – Commensurate with experience and the agreed full-time or fractional arrangement.
