Position #: 9000494 Expected Start Date: September 28, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Addictions Treatment Centre - Regina City/Town: Regina Department: Addiction Serv Res Care Unit&Trtmt Facil-Brief & Social Detox Type: Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date: March 31, 2028 FTE: 0.48 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends and Stats Number of Hours per Rotation: 9 shifts of 6 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Diploma $29.584 to $36.176 Travel Required: No Job Description: As a member of the Adult services team and under the general direction of the Manager, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues through the implementation of addiction recovery programs. Addiction best practices will be utilized to improve client outcomes. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education * Chemical Dependency diploma Other Education and Training * Bachelor of Chemical Dependency is acceptable Competencies * Computer skills Knowledge and Abilities * Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team * Knowledge and ability to assess withdrawal symptoms related to substance use. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing * Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures * Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies * Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change * Knowledge in holistic addictions treatment model * Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field. * Knowledge of therapeutic tools such as Motivational Interviewing and CBT. * Knowledge in group dynamics * Accurately triage addiction(s), collectively develop a recovery and case plan. * Demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the individual. * Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients. Requirements

A Chemical Dependency diploma is required; a Bachelor of Chemical Dependency is also accepted. Candidates should be able to assess withdrawal symptoms, use addiction screening and therapeutic approaches, communicate effectively, work within a multidisciplinary team, and deliver workshops or lectures.
