Position #: 161862 Expected Start Date: October 19, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Weyburn Community Health Services Building City/Town: Weyburn Department: Dental Program Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: December 31, 2027 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 224 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Health Educator - Staff $36.518 to $44.655 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: The Health Educator - Staff, reporting to the Manager, is responsible for assessing, coordinating, and delivering oral health prevention and promotion activities in the community. The Health Educator - Staff provides programs to children, pre-postnatal groups, senior populations, and others with all abilities. This position is an integral part of the Primary Health Care umbrella and works to promote oral health and provide consultation and information to communities, individuals, and others in the community. Human Resources Exemption: No Education * Graduate from a recognized Dental Therapy program Licenses * Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training * Graduate from a recognized Dental Hygienist program is also acceptable Competencies * Presentation skills * Verbal communication skills * Time management skills * Written Communication Skills * Facilitation skills * Computer skills Knowledge and Abilities * Ability to operate audio/visual equipment (Proxima & Powerpoint) * Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients & Stakeholders * Knowledge of current scientific info/research/best practice in oral health * Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team * Knowledge of provincial health and education programs * Ability to interact in a positive and culturally appropriate manner * Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning * Ability to diagnose dental decay/abscesses and identify oral abnormalities * Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships * Able to research, develop, & deliver health presentations to a variety of groups * Knowledge of population health approach to health promotion/prevention Other Information * Travel required * Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is the largest employer in Saskatchewan, employing more than 45,000 staff in a dynamic healthcare environment.
