Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Initiatives in the Workforce Development Secretariat, this Senior Policy, Planning and Research Analyst position provides critical advice and subject matter expertise to senior government officials. Duties include: Providing strategic policy, planning, research, and analytical support on workforce development and population growth initiatives, including cross-jurisdictional, statistical, trend, and labour market analysis to inform evidence-based decision-making. Leading and supporting province-wide workforce development priorities by monitoring labour market trends, labour supply and demand issues, emerging workforce challenges, and the impact of technological change on workforce skills and participation. Guiding the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of labour market policies, programs, and initiatives, including the preparation of briefing materials, reports, correspondence, and other government documents. Collaborating with departments, stakeholders, industry partners, and labour market organizations through committees, working groups, conferences, and engagement activities to identify opportunities and advance workforce and population growth objectives. Monitoring and providing advice regarding the Workforce Innovation Centre (WIC), supporting labour mobility and trade-related initiatives, and representing the department at provincial, territorial, and federal forums and meetings. Other duties as assigned. Screening Criteria 1. Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field - equivalencies will be considered 2. Experience with policy and program development and evaluation 3. Experience with research and analysis 4. Experience preparing briefing notes, reports, correspondence, presentations, or other materials 5. Experience collaborating with stakeholders (government departments, industry, or external organizations).
