Job summary
ASD-W Qualifications Required for EST-Resource Positions ASD-W will be staffing EST-R positions with individuals who have the following qualifications and demonstrated skills and knowledge. ASD-W will consider suitability of candidates for EST-R positions along with qualifications. This will ensure appropriate and timely interventions are provided to students and that teachers have access to skilled ESS members. EST-R: For positions of 0.4 FTE or greater a Masters in Exceptionalities or Equivalent For positions of 0.3 FTE or less a demonstrated Skills and Knowledge Mandatory documents to be uploaded include: 1. Current resume and cover letter specific to the position you are applying for 2. Appropriate Certificates ex. EECD School Counsellor Certificate 3. Transcripts if currently enrolled in a Masters program. 4. Recent Performance evaluations. Applicants who meet the following screening criteria for items I and II will be considered for the eligibility list for EST-R. 1. Have a master’s in exceptionalities OR equivalent OR on route to completing a master’s in exceptionalities with an expected end date OR suitable candidates with evidence of combined experience and skills. 2. Possess a Valid Teachers Certificate 5 or 6 3. Courses in standardized assessments is considered an asset 4. EECD Autism Level 1 or Level 2 training is considered an asset Teachers holding a “B” contract and the required qualifications, skills and knowledge can be placed into any vacated or new position throughout the district in accordance with the collective agreement. This may mean a one year, or less, transfer to an opportunity outside of their current school. Teachers who are “D with recall rights” or “supply teachers” and have the required qualifications, skills and knowledge can be placed into any vacated or new position throughout the district in accordance with the collective agreement. In the event the School District cannot secure a suitable or preferred teacher with the above qualifications, it remains the discretion of the Employer to change the education and/or experience requirements.

Requirements
Requires a valid Teacher's Certificate (5 or 6) and a Master's in Exceptionalities or equivalent experience. Candidates must provide a resume, cover letter, and recent performance evaluations.
