This employment opportunity is designed to provide you with practice exposure to Human Resources operations, processes, programs, and initiatives. You will assist in supporting our employees and enhancing the overall employee experience. You primary responsibilities will include: * Onboarding & Recruitment: Lead and support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, pre-boarding and offboarding activities while helping deliver a positive, organized, and professional candidate and employee experience through recruitment coordination, event support, and employee programs. * HR Administration: Provide administrative support for People & Culture programs by maintaining employee records, tracking training and certifications, preparing HR documentation, and ensuring accurate, confidential, and policy-compliant processes. * Employee Engagement: Support employee engagement initiatives by assisting with engagement strategies, wellness programs, recognition events, and team leader action planning to help foster an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging workplace culture. * HR Projects & Process Improvement: Contribute to People & Culture projects and process improvement initiatives, including the transition to electronic personnel files, records management, and the enhancement of HR systems and administrative processes. More, specifically you are: * Actively pursuing a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or Commerce Co-operative Work Experience Program for the 2027 term. * Valid Class 5 Driver's License. * Must be available for Monday - Friday 8 - 5 work days and willing to relocate to the Battlefords. * You are interested in a progressive career within the Co-operative Retailing System. * You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working with a variety of people. * You have strong organizational skills and can manage multiple tasks while paying close attention to detail. * You are comfortable working with confidential information and demonstrate professionalism and discretion. * You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook), Social Media Platforms, Canva, etc. and are comfortable learning new systems and technology. * You are motivated, adaptable, and willing to take initiative when supporting projects and day-to-day activities. * You enjoy finding ways to improve processes and are excited to contribute to projects such as the transition to electronic employee records. * You are customer-service focused and committed to creating positive experiences for candidates, employees, and leaders. * You value collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning and want to make a meaningful contribution to workplace culture. * Previous co-operative retail experience is considered an asset At Discovery Co-operative Ltd., we embrace diversity and inclusion, and we're working to create a workplace that is as diverse as the communities we serve. Requirements
Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or Commerce and possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License. Applicants are expected to be proficient in Microsoft Office, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and be available for full-time work in North Battleford.
