Further information is available at www.bgis.com SUMMARY Reporting to the Convenience Retail Inventory Systems Lead, the Inventory Accounting Coordinator will play a key role in upholding the elements of the financial control framework that are necessary in effectively monitoring Shell’s inventory position. The role will be responsible for reviewing and assessing site inventory audits and investigating results required to complete reconciliations. Work must be completed accurately and in a timely manner in a fast paced and highly evolving business environment. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Accountabilities Review results of physical audits performed on site and provide an assessment and analysis of findings. Processes customer payments (receipts) in accordance to established processes Reviews documents for compliance and completeness against established requirements. Identifies non-compliant items and missing information and obtains information to ensure compliance to established procedures and requirements. Ability to quickly learn the financial components of the inventory control system and effectively and quickly navigate the system to access information to support results. Effectively communicate results and explain findings and impacts to a wide array of concerned parties including those with a non-financial background. Advise of trends, key issues and areas of focus and develop and implement processes to effectively address results. Turn around results quickly and accurately while focusing on key issues and not being distracted by results that do not drive significant impact. Work collaboratively with other concerned parties and the Inventory Management team to refine requirements as needed. Identify trends and process gaps in invoice process and suggest ways to address. Monitor and troubleshoot EDI invoice transmissions and other invoice-related system issues. Partner with vendors, IT teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues. Analyze data and prepare reports to support reconciliation, issue resolution, and decision-making. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams. Experience supporting retail or convenience retail operations. Familiarity with Power BI, or other reporting and analytics tools Dimensions # of Sites: 500+. Have end to end insight and accountability all site matters impacting inventory operations and working capital for a determined number of sites. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS 3-5 years experience in financial operations. Strong attention to detail. Proficient with accounting systems, MS Office Excel and other MS Office software applications along with ability to quickly learn other information systems and software applications Understanding of financial control framework with an analytical ability to interpret and evaluate results. Audit and assurance process knowledge considered an asset. Manage workload effectively during peak periods. Proven experience in meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment. Work effectively in a team environment. Strong communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive issues and communicating difficult messages. Able to learn financial systems quickly. Demonstrated ability to apply process changes to daily work. Deliver work to a high level of standard on a consistent basis. Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation None required. #LI-JP1
