Job summary
Backwoods Security Services is currently hiring experienced Security Guards to support several upcoming pipeline projects at various locations throughout Alberta. These opportunities are ideal for security professionals who enjoy working in fast-paced industrial environments and are available for out-of-town assignments of varying durations. Successful candidates may be assigned to one or more projects based on operational requirements. Wage: $20.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on the project. Schedule: 12-hour day and night shifts Rotating schedules as required by the project Overtime may be available depending on operational needs Work Locations & Travel Requirements This position involves out-of-town work assignments at various locations across Alberta. Employees must be prepared to travel to different job sites as required. Successful candidates are responsible for arranging and providing their own reliable transportation to the designated hotel or initial work location. Once on assignment, hotel accommodations will be provided for the duration of the work rotation. A daily Living Out Allowance (LOA) will also be provided to help offset additional living expenses incurred while working away from home, including meals. Important Information Work locations will vary throughout Alberta. These are out-of-town assignments and may require regular travel. Candidates must have reliable transportation to travel to the designated hotel and/or initial work location. Hotel accommodations are provided for the duration of each rotation. A daily LOA is provided to help cover eligible living expenses, such as meals. Candidates should be comfortable working away from home for the duration of their scheduled rotation. Expected Start Dates: Most projects are expected to start around mid-September. Responsibilities include: Maintain a safe and secure environment through regular patrols and monitoring of industrial facilities. Control access to site by verifying workers, contractors, and visitors. Monitor surveillance systems and report any unusual or suspicious activity. Enforce site security policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Conduct vehicle inspections and traffic control as required. Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), Daily Occurrence Reports (DORs), Incident Reports (IRs), and other required documentation. Respond appropriately to emergencies, alarms, and incidents. Inspect company vehicles and equipment, reporting maintenance requirements. Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and fellow team members. Arrive on time and prepared for each scheduled shift. Work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. Attend and successfully complete all required client and site orientations. What We're Looking For Required: Valid Alberta Security Services License Minimum one (1) year of industrial experience Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean or acceptable driver's abstract (no more than six demerits) CSTS certification Standard First Aid with CPR Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various job sites across Alberta Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong communication, observation, and report-writing skills Professional attitude, dependability, and strong work ethic Preferred: H2S Alive or H2S Awareness CSO (Common Safety Orientation) Previous turnaround or shutdown experience Experience working in industrial, oil and gas, petrochemical, or utility environments

Requirements
Candidates must hold a valid Alberta Security Services License, a Class 5 Driver's License, and have at least one year of industrial experience. Additional requirements include CSTS certification, Standard First Aid with CPR, and the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts in outdoor environments.
