(ASD-W) Acting Human Resources Officer - Fredericton Education Centre - Temporary until July 2, 2027 1.0 FTE Human Resources Officer – Time & Labour (PB 4) Fredericton Education Centre Term position until July 2, 2027 Description: Anglophone West School District (ASD-W) is currently seeking an individual to join our Human Resources and Payroll Department as a Human Resource Officers (HRO) The district has offices located in Fredericton, Oromocto and Woodstock. The location for this position is at 20 Knowledge Park Drive, Fredericton, NB. The Human Resources and Payroll Department at ASD-W provides end-to-end HR and Payroll support to over 5,000 employees located across the district representing a variety of different business streams and services. Our five employee bargaining groups include teachers, educational support staff, custodial staff, bus drivers, professional support and management teams. As a member of the Human Resources team, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide operational support based on the following area of responsibility. Duties: * Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Time & Labour Unit for ASD-W. * Adhere to provincial work instructions for processing work in the Human Resources and Payroll – Employee Resource Planning (ERP) Oracle Fusion system. * Provide supervision and support to a team of Time, Labour & Absence Clerks. * Ensure timely processing of timecards to process wages for all casuals and supply teachers in ASD-W. * Ensure timely processing of overtime for respective bargaining staff in ASD-W. * Review work of the unit on an ongoing basis. * Respond and resolve employee inquiries related to casual payroll. * Extract and review system data as required. * Support other areas of the Human Resources and Payroll Department should the need arise. * Other duties as assigned. We reserve the right to adjust assignments based on operational needs; however, geographical locations will not change unless there is mutual consent. Essential Qualifications: Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. * University degree in business administration, public administration or in a related field, with a major in human resources. * A minimum of five years’ experience in human resources. * Experience in a supervisory capacity over a department or unit in complex setting. * Demonstrated computer literacy with strong skills in all MS Office products. * Written and spoken competency in English. * Must be eligible to work in Canada. Subject to the response to this competition, a combination of education and experience may be considered. In the event that there are no candidates that demonstrate the essential qualifications required for the PB 4 level, we may consider appointing at a lower classification. The position may also be adjusted or extended based on operational needs of the district. Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate: * Coursework in human resources, a recognized Human Resources designation; diploma or certificate. * Experience working in a large complex unionized environment. * Experience working in a payroll setting. * Exceptional written, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. * Experience working in a public education setting. Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Operational Requirements: The following operational requirement(s) are also required: Occasional travel throughout the district may be required. Also, candidates must possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible to obtain one. Salary: This position is a Management Non-Union position and falls under Pay Band 4 range $59,046 - $82,576 per annum, based on 36.25 hours per week.
