World Renew

World Renew (formerly CRWRC) is an international disaster response, development, and justice organization serving in 40 countries worldwide. When disasters strike, World Renew is there – whether in North America or around the world – to provide emergency and long-term assistance to help people get back on their feet. In communities of poverty, World Renew also provides long-term development programs. These are carried out in partnership with local churches and community organizations that understand local needs and can tap in to local resources. Together, World Renew and its partners help individuals, families and entire communities free themselves from the chains of poverty and build up a better future. Rooted in the Christian Reformed Church of North America, World Renew is driven by the call of Micah 6:8 “…And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” World Renew responds to the Micah Call by: • Respecting all people as God’s image bearers – this includes listening to those in need and collaborating with local partners to ensure community development is relevant for those World Renew seeks to help. • Recognizing that all things come from and belong to God – this includes making the most of all our resources such as staff, donations, partners and programs • Working for long-term gain – this includes building long-term relationships with communities during disaster response and equipping local church leaders to become resources for the poor in their community. • and promoting justice, advocacy and civil society through Biblical justice education.
