Job Description Accountabilities: Provide immediate assessment and intervention for individuals who present to the Emergency Department in crisis due to symptoms associated with a serious and severe psychiatric problem, addiction and/or psycho-social problem(s) Work collaboratively with hospital colleagues in a fast-paced environment Qualifications Masters Degree in Social Work, Nursing or Counseling/Psychology with a combination of relevant experience in mental health and addictions Registration with the appropriate professional college Minimum of three years recent, related experience in crisis intervention in the fields of mental health and addictions Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of best practice guidelines in crisis intervention and crisis theory Excellent assessment and counseling skills Demonstrated ability to work with and advocate for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness Demonstrated ability to develop care plans for those in crisis Demonstrated ability to develop and foster community linkages and resources Demonstrated commitment to providing quality customer service in dealing with the public (patients and families) as well as various clinical professionals Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team Self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision Proficiency in computer skills mandatory Excellent attendance record Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration Additional Information Hours: Currently Rotational Shifts - Days/Evenings/Nights with overnight, weekends and statutory holidays as the crisis program is a 24 hour service which runs seven days a week (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements) The successful candidate may be scheduled or reassigned at any Osler site based on operational needs. What you’ll do

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Nursing, or Counseling/Psychology and registration with a professional college. Candidates must have at least three years of recent experience in crisis intervention within mental health and addictions.
