ABOUT THE ROLE This role is for a Storefront associate to assist the team and our customers during our peak season, October - December. As a Storefront Associate at Big Star Lights, you'll be at the heart of our peak-season operations — assisting our customers at our in our storefront and completing purchases through our POS system. When not with customers you'll be assisting our warehouse team with picking, packing, and shipping orders, keeping the storefront and warehouse organized, and jumping in wherever the team needs a hand. It's active, hands-on work that calls for a strong work ethic, good communication, and a willingness to adapt when things get busy. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE A successful candidate for the Storefront Associate role is someone who brings energy, reliability, and a genuine team spirit to the floor each day. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a crucial part of daily operations in the storefront, your role will be to assist customers with their shopping needs, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to the overall smooth operation of the store. This includes greeting customers, answering questions, processing payments, and maintaining a tidy and organized sales floor. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * working weekends * Providing product information, assisting with purchases, and resolving customer issues * Driving sales through engagement with customers, suggestive selling, and promoting special offers * Operating the point-of-sale system, processing payments and returns in Shopify POS (credit card and debit), and handling the customer pick up area * Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, restocking shelves, and assisting with visual displays * Develop an understanding of BSL's products and how they function * Assist with online customer support, sales and order pickups in the storefront * Contributing to general cleanliness and organization in the storefront and warehouse * Adhering to all safety protocols set by the company and promptly reporting incidents and risks DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS * Exceptional organizational skills and cleanliness * Basic math and computer skills * Strong communication skills * Ability to work in a team and independently * Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach * Flexibility to adapt to changing demands * Ability to lift up to 60 lbs safely and comfortably * Experience working in retail is preferred * Experience working in a warehouse is an asset * Experience with POS systems like Shopify POS is an asset WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR We're looking for a motivated Storefront Associate to join our team during our busiest season.
