Reporting to the Earthworks Foreman, the Rock Truck Operator is responsible for safely transporting materials such as aggregate, asphalt, gravel, sand, and excavated material across civil construction and earthworks project sites. This role is essential to supporting efficient production and maintaining smooth coordination between excavation, loading, and placement activities. How You’ll Add Value * Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment * Operate rock trucks to haul materials including aggregate, asphalt, gravel, sand, and fill materials as directed * Perform pre‑trip and daily equipment inspections to ensure safe and reliable operation * Communicate effectively with loaders, excavator operators, and site supervisors to maintain efficient material flow * Follow haul road guidelines, spotter directions, and traffic control measures at all times * Maintain safe speeds and proper loading limits to protect equipment, roadways, and personnel * Dump materials accurately at designated locations according to project requirements * Identify and report potential hazards, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to the Foreman * Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area around operating equipment * Support other earthworks activities as required to meet project schedules What You Bring * 6 months to 1 year of experience operating a rock truck or haul truck in a civil construction or earthworks environment * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions * Willing to travel and work out of town for short, fixed-term periods, as needed Note: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing and Fit for Work Testing will be required. Requirements
Candidates must have 6 months to 1 year of experience operating a rock or haul truck in a construction environment. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract is required, along with the ability to travel for work.
