In this role, you will design, develop, implement, and maintain high-performance Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines using the IBM InfoSphere DataStage platform. You will translate complex business requirements into scalable data integration solutions, ensuring data quality, integrity, and seamless delivery across enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and repositories. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in enterprise data integration, a strong mastery of relational databases, and the ability to optimize data workflows in clustered and parallel environments. Key Responsibilities ETL Pipeline Development: Design and build high-volume, scalable Parallel and Server jobs, sequences, and workflows using the IBM DataStage interface. Architecture & Design: Create end-to-end data pipeline architectures connecting diverse source systems (flat files, XML, DB2, Oracle, SAP) to corporate data warehouses. Performance Tuning: Monitor running execution paths, identify processing bottlenecks, and tune DataStage jobs and heavy SQL queries for maximum processing efficiency. Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts to manage batch processing schedules, file manipulations, and automated job triggers. Data Quality & Governance: Perform data profiling, source-to-target mapping validation, and data reconciliation to eliminate data redundancy and ensure data integrity. Production Support: Provide technical support for daily/monthly data processing cycles, perform root-cause analysis on job failures, and deploy bug fixes. Documentation: Author and maintain rigorous technical specifications, ETL design documents, mapping layouts, and system recovery plans. Collaboration: Partner with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and DBAs to convert business needs into technical designs and participate in peer code reviews. Required Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. Core Expertise: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise data integration solutions specifically with IBM InfoSphere DataStage. Component Mastery: Complete proficiency with DataStage Designer, Director, Administrator, and various stages (Transformer, Lookup, Join, Merge, Sort, Sequential file). Database & SQL: Advanced knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server) and a mastery of writing and optimization of complex SQL and PL/SQL queries. Operating Systems: Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments alongside Shell Scripting (Bash, Korn shell). Data Warehousing: Solid conceptual understanding of star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, and standard ETL/ELT methodologies.
