Position Information The Ottawa Hospital is accepting resumes for upcoming Casual (On-Call) Social Work positions. Position may require you to work at different campuses depending on assignments. Rotation/Shifts Days, evenings and nights, including weekends, 8 hour shifts. For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change. Basic Requirements Master's in Social Work with a clinical concentration from a university of recognized standing; Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers; Experience working in an acute care hospital setting; Knowledge of a variety of theoretical frameworks and treatment modalities such as crisis intervention, systems theory, etc. Knowledge of the Health Care Delivery System; Knowledge of legislation, acts and regulations such as Ontario Works, Public Hospital and Mental Health Acts; Experience working with issues such as dying, grief and loss; Ability to provide both group and individual counseling; Excellent knowledge of discharge planning, community resources and the placement process; Excellent assessment and crisis intervention skills; Demonstrated skills in teaching and consultation; Superior written, verbal and presentation skills; Ability to multi-task; Superior interpersonal skills; Must be eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications CAS experience; Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced). The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Requirements

Requires a Master's in Social Work and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Candidates must have experience in an acute care hospital setting and knowledge of relevant mental health and hospital legislation.
