Job summary

The Assistant Vice Principal (AVP) supports the Vice Principal and Principal in managing the daily operations of a school, ensuring a safe, productive, and positive learning environment. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between teachers, students, and administration while helping to shape the school’s academic and disciplinary standards. Key Responsibilities: * Administrative Duties 1. Assist in developing and implementing school policies and procedures. 2. Manage student records, attendance, and scheduling. 3. Oversee standardized testing and academic reporting. 4. Coordinate with staff, parents, and district administrators. * Student Discipline & Behavior Management 1. Enforce school rules and handle disciplinary actions. 2. Mediate conflicts between students, teachers, or parents. 3. Promote a positive school culture through behavior intervention programs. * Academic Support & Supervision 1. Assist in curriculum planning and teacher evaluations. 2. Monitor classroom instruction and provide feedback to teachers. 3. Support special education programs and student accommodations. * Staff Leadership & Development 1. Mentor and support teachers and staff. 2. Help organize professional development workshops. 3. Participate in hiring and performance reviews. * Safety & Crisis Management 1. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. 2. Lead emergency preparedness drills (fire, lockdown, etc.). 3. Address bullying, harassment, and other student welfare concerns. * Community & Parent Relations 1. Communicate with parents regarding student progress and concerns. 2. Attend school events, meetings, and parent-teacher conferences. 3. Foster partnerships with community organizations. * Qualifications & Skills: 1. Master’s degree in Education Administration/Leadership or equivalent (highly preferred). 2. 5-10 teaching + leadership experience (e.g., department lead). 3. Strong leadership and decision-making. 4. Excellent communication and conflict resolution. 5. Organizational and problem-solving abilities. 6. Knowledge of Ministry of Education laws and regulations. 7.
