The Embassy is hiring a Modeller to join their team! About You The Modeller thrives in an environment with the freedom to leverage all aspects of our pipeline to get assets and shots to final. They are good communicators who can give and receive feedback and apply it to their work. They will accomplish project-specific tasks and be responsible for maintaining a high-level overview of the status and quality of their progress. They possess strong expert knowledge of all 3D skills needed to accomplish the task. They are responsible for models, textures, surfaces, look development and rigging of characters, sets and props. Your Role Take an asset or shot to a final quality, hitting all notes Model, texture, lookdev, and render assets Fluent with node-based shading networks Participate as a team member in determining various design and technical solutions Strong understanding of colour spaces and global illumination problems and techniques Meet project milestones and deadlines on time Mentor junior artists and set a positive example for the team Collaborate with other artists to share knowledge and techniques Communicate with other departments to receive feedback and resolve shot issues Assist in planning conversations about the direction of Assets while being mindful of the continuity for the entire show/sequence Your Qualifications 5+ years of industry experience in commercials, film, or television Strong eye for creating realistic models Expertise in modelling, UV creation, and texturing Ability to create both hard surface and organic models Proficient in software such as Blender, Maya, Houdini, ZBrush, Substance, and Mari Ability to take direction well, collaborate effectively in a team, and perform under tight deadlines Strong understanding of various aspects of the VFX pipeline Proactive problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset Capable of working collaboratively in a remote team environment Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work across multiple tasks We Offer Flexible hybrid work environment Strong emphasis on work-life balance with standard working hours of 9am–5pm Paid lunch break Group benefits for eligible employees Employee Assistance Program for eligible employees Sick days and floating holidays for eligible employees Summer and Christmas parties Centrally located office space for those who enjoy in-person collaboration Fully stocked kitchen with complimentary snacks and drinks Friday Happy Hour - join the team every Friday at 4pm, in person or remotely, for a casual wind-down chat over drinks The Embassy Visual Effects Inc. is an equal-opportunity employer.
