Setting up batter boards. Assist with leading the crews. Assist with cutting and beveling pipe. Rigging for pipe and man hole lifts. Doing the prep work ahead of the crew, track line. Keeping track of tools. Keeping the crews moving forward with the work. Relating the foreman's directions to the crew. Involved in daily production requirements. Involved in daily tool box and safety meetings. Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. The Lead Hand assists in directing crews, reading grade sheets, and setting up equipment to ensure pipe is installed correctly. They are also responsible for maintaining safety standards, managing tools, and facilitating communication between the foreman and the crew.

Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as a Lead Hand in water and sewer construction and possess a valid driver's license with a clean abstract. A personal reliable vehicle and CSA-approved steel-toed boots are mandatory for this role.
