Overview: **Finish Grader Operator** **Sureway** **Construction** is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. **Work Local - Work Sureway!** **Job Type:** Full Time, Seasonal **Schedule:** 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week **Perks:** Benefits, RRSP/TFSA Matching **Location:** Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s **-** no direct access to public transportation **Essential:** Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions **Requirements:** - Personal Reliable Vehicle - CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support **Pre-employment:** - Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test) - Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation **Finish Grader Responsibilities:** - Operate the grader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. - Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. - Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance. - Drive the grader in successive passes over working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of other workers, to level the surface to the specified grade. - Finish grade base surface preparation to within half an inch. - Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the grader. - Ensure grader is in proper gear, and is not moving too fast for working conditions. - Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and draw **Finish Grader Operator** **Qualifications:** - Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as a **Finish Grader** Operator. - Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner. - Experience with finishing work required **Sureway Construction Group** is an equal opportunity employer.
