Job details

The Concurrent Disorders Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program is a new innovative partnership initiative between Unity Health Toronto (St. Michael’s Site) and Toronto Public Health. The program relies on an inter-professional team to provide community-based assertive community treatment services (home visits, community visits) to individuals living with serious mental illness and substance use disorders in downtown Toronto. Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include payroll, ordering and managing office supplies, managing databases, providing computer support to staff, patient registration, organizing clinic appointments, serving as a communications relay person for outreach staff, organizing educational and team events, etc. The individual may be asked to provide support and coverage to special projects as required. Qualifications Graduate of a recognized secretarial program and/or equivalent experience; university degree is preferred. Minimum of 3 years recent secretarial and administrative experience, preferably in a health care setting, is an asset. Proficiency with computer software modules such as MS Word, PowerPoint (producing slides and overheads), Excel, Internet, E-mail, Library Search software, etc. Sound knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology. Excellent organizational skills and is able to prioritize duties in an environment with multiple demands. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, in both individual and team work. Proven ability to work independently and coordinate busy workload. Proven ability to meet competing priorities with short deadlines while maintaining daily operations. Experience interacting with clients with mental illness would be a strong asset.
