Job summary

Tree & Plant Watering · Read and understand daily watering routes and route sheets. · Water newly planted and at-risk trees and shrubs using a water truck, tank, or hose system. · Monitor soil moisture and adjust watering volume based on weather and site conditions. · Operate and maintain water trucks, tanks, pumps, and hoses. · Refill water tanks at designated filling stations. · Identify and report signs of tree stress, disease, or pest activity to a supervisor. · Apply basic plant care as directed by supervisors. · Site setup, takedown, and site clean up as necessary. · Maintain accurate records of trees watered and volumes applied. Equipment, Machine and Tool Use · Load and unload water tanks, hoses, and watering equipment daily. · Perform daily safety inspections of the vehicle, water tank, and equipment. · Drive a company vehicle, including a water truck, with or without a trailer. · Set up and take down hoses and watering equipment at each site. · Refuel and perform basic maintenance on trucks, tanks, and pumps. · Report any equipment malfunctions or vehicle issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of trees watered and volumes applied. Safe Work Practices · Choose and inspect personal protective equipment. · Inspect worksites and identify risks. · Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic when necessary. · Report any hazards, incidents, or near-misses to a supervisor immediately. Qualifications: · Students and seasonal laborers preferred, but open to all applicants · Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions · WHMIS and First Aid Certification required · Class 5 Drivers License and clean driving record mandatory Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes: · Enjoys hands-on, physical, and outdoor work. · Adheres to and promotes a strong safety-focused company culture. · Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy. · Collaborative and supportive. · Approaches learning and work in a flexible manner. · Proactive, reliable, and punctual. · Effective communication skills – verbal and written. · Comfortable with repetitive physical tasks over long hours outdoors. · Sensitivity to deadlines and time management. · Works well on teams and crew. Relationships: Reports To: Branch Manager, Operations Manager, GTC Supervisor, other Managers, Crew Leaders. Working Conditions: · BCPHC performs services for a wide variety of clients across the Lower Mainland, including private gardens and backyards, public spaces, and commercial sites. · Majority of work time is spent driving between sites and operating a water truck and watering equipment. · Physical fitness and the ability to lift, carry, and manage hoses and equipment is required. · Schedule may include early mornings or extended hours during peak summer heat. · Occasional office work needed to complete paperwork and attend meetings/training. Income: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Requirements
