Department/Unit/Program Description The Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) Laboratory is provincially accredited by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare and provides the following onsite services: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Phlebotomy and Electrocardiograms. In addition to the onsite services, RMH has partnered with other Ontario Laboratories such as Public Health, Dynacare and Peterborough Regional Health Centre, to facilitate a larger scope of testing. The laboratory is committed to the provision of a quality laboratory service that ensures delivery of clinically relevant, accurate and timely diagnostic services. Position Summary The Laboratory Department is currently seeking a Casual Lab Technician to join their team. Effective Date: August 10, 2026 Essential Qualifications Grade 12 or equivalent OSMT Certificate Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician OR CSMLS Certificate Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician Must have experience in: Venipuncture, Electrocardiogram, Holter Monitoring Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to deal effectively with the public Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per the current Physical Demands Analysis Preferred Qualifications 2 years recent laboratory experience Epic trained or ability to train and pass testing Hours of Work Must be available to work 4 and 8 hours shifts, days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
