Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a QA Technician (21 Month Term) at our Lethbridge, AB location. Responsibilities: * Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules * Participate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times: * Always using the required personal protective equipment * Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely * Utilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards * Participating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives * Reporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure * Provide quality assurance testing, analysis and technical support Analysis of blends and finished product to ensure specifications are met * Testing & reporting on incoming raw materials, packaging & finished goods * Interface with production personnel and management to ensure operating conditions are maintained and laboratory specifications are effectively implemented * Contribute to the development, maintenance and improvement of the food safety and quality management system * Must work within established OH&S regulations and comply with all Company policies & procedures * Other duties as assigned Qualifications: * Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry * Comprehension of & familiarity with lab instrumentation * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly describe the food safety and quality requirements for producing food products to all staff. * Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills * Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications specifically Word, Excel * Excellent interpersonal skills and team work ability * Willing to work shifts and overtime Richardson International provides an excellent compensation package consisting of competitive salary, pension, a flexible benefits plan and training and career development opportunities.
