Band 7 Sonographer Locum - Surrey • Position: Sonographer • Banding: 7 • Location: Surrey • Start: ASAP • Hours: 7-day rota • Rate: £48.00 per hour The radiography team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 7 Sonographer with at least one year of UK experience to join our dynamic team in Surrey. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality radiographic services and ensuring the best care for our patients. Responsibilities: Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and obtaining informed consent. Address any patient concerns or questions. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it functions correctly and safely. Report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel. Assist in the initial interpretation of ultrasound images and report significant findings to the supervising radiologist or clinician. Adhere to quality assurance protocols and health and safety regulations to maintain high standards of practice. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to imaging procedures, including consent forms and reports. Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care. Participate in case discussions and contribute to patient care plans. Provide guidance and support to junior sonographers, students, and support staff, fostering a positive learning environment. Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay up to date with advancements in sonography and imaging techniques. Participate in clinical research and audit activities to improve service delivery and patient outcomes. Take on leadership responsibilities within the department, including managing workflow, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with departmental protocols and policies. Requirements: * Relevant qualification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent. * Abdomen and pelvic scans. * Proficiency in using ultrasound machines and associated software. * Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * HCPC registration. * 1 year UK experience as a sonographer with NHS and private sector.
