⚡ Title: Power System Protection & Control Engineer (System Support Specialist IV) 📍 Remote | Ontario, Canada 📌 Contract: 12+ months Are you passionate about power systems, grid automation, and protecting critical electrical infrastructure? Join a team delivering advanced Protection & Control solutions across utility and industrial markets in Canada. We are seeking an experienced Protection & Control Engineer to support the design, testing, and commissioning of substation automation and power system protection applications. What you’ll do: 🔹 Develop protection solutions and relay settings for complex power systems 🔹 Perform power system studies and engineering analyses 🔹 Support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and customer projects 🔹 Work with modern protection relays and substation communication systems What we’re looking for: ✅ Electrical Engineering degree (Power Systems focus preferred) ✅ 5+ years of power system protection and analysis experience ✅ Experience with tools such as ETAP, ASPEN, CAPE, SKM, MATLAB, or similar ✅ Knowledge of IEC 61850, DNP, Modbus, and relay testing/commissioning ✅ Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills If you’re ready to contribute to the future of grid reliability and automation, we’d love to connect!

What you’ll do

The role involves developing protection solutions and relay settings for complex power systems, as well as performing power system studies and engineering analyses. Additionally, the specialist will support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and customer projects.

Requirements

Candidates should have an Electrical Engineering degree with a focus on Power Systems and at least 5 years of experience in power system protection and analysis. Familiarity with tools like ETAP, ASPEN, and knowledge of IEC 61850 and relay testing is also required.
