WHAT WE OFFER: Shift premiums (for afternoons, nights, and weekends) + scheduled wage progression Paid breaks including lunch during an 8-hour shift Majority of shifts are 8 hours Unlimited shift switches Schedule provided 6 weeks in advance through electronic scheduling software Confidential Employee and Family Assistance Program Uniform allowance of $200/year Course and tuition reimbursement Innovative home with new programs Opportunity to participate in or transfer pension plans from OMERS and HOOPP. OMERS is a defined pension plan that is comparable to HOOPP. MAIN DUTIES: Under the direction of the registered staff, provides activities and supports resident to meet basic emotional, social, and physical care needs. Possesses the ability and the passion to support person centred care, and change the culture of aging in long term care. Performs all duties in accordance to the organization's mission, vision, and value statements. This position requires availability on all shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights, and all days of the week. QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of a Personal Support Worker course conducted by a Community College or other recognized institute of learning. Ability to understand both written and verbal instructions. Working knowledge of computer software for documentation and communication. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Able to work as part of a team. Able to travel to all 3 sites.
