Job summary

Oulton College is seeking a qualified instructor to teach courses within our Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Assistant programs. For the Veterinary Technician program, the successful candidate will support instruction in Lab Procedures I (Parasitology) and Lab Procedures II (Hematology) as well as assisting in corresponding Lab Practical components. For the Veterinary Assistant program, instruction will include Office Procedures I and II, Veterinary Terminology, and associated laboratory components. This position provides students with a unique educational experience through the use of current and diverse teaching methodologies. Our instructors foster a student-centered, open, safe, and collaborative learning environment while maintaining strong connections with industry. They play an essential role in bridging the college, the student, and the employer, ensuring graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to meet the evolving demands of veterinary practice. This position involves classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. This position is for an 18months maternity leave cover. Requirements Diploma in Veterinary Technology from an accredited institution. Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the Province of New Brunswick, or eligible for registration. Minimum of five years of experience in veterinary practice. Strong knowledge of veterinary clinical procedures and laboratory practices. Excellent communication, organizational, facilitation, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to mentor and support learners in a post-secondary environment. Innovative teaching approaches and strong problem-solving abilities. Previous teaching experience is considered an asset. Requirements

Candidates must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in New Brunswick with a diploma in Veterinary Technology and at least five years of practice experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor learners in a post-secondary setting are required.
