Since 1984, North York Women's Shelter (NYWS) has operated a 30-bed emergency shelter. Our Mission: NYWS actively supports the rights of women and children to build lives free of violence by providing non-judgemental safe shelter, advocacy, and a range of programs & services including 24-hour crisis support. Our vision is to create a community characterized by gender equality where women and their children feel empowered and safe and all services are provided according the NYWS’s Trauma-Informed Key Principles.

The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for preparing nutritious meals that meet the dietary, cultural, and religious needs of shelter clients while maintaining kitchen operations. They also ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols, food handling standards, and resource management.
