POSITION GOAL: Design, build, and test products to meet the present and future needs of "NFIL" as directed by the Director of New Product Development. Responsibilities: Construction of prototype parts, assemblies, and installations, working from drawings, sketches, verbal instruction Provide feedback to engineering on drawings, designs, and theories of operation, understand and navigate BOM and engineering drawing systems Working with hand and power tools, fabrication equipment and test equipment, some lifting and climbing required Operation of heavy equipment such as forklift or bus Write reports and test documentation, use of PC, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc Set-up and perform tests from a requested plan; emerging technology. Knowledge transfer from NPD shop various departments Shop maintenance and cleaning Other duties as requested Requirements Post-secondary certificate or technology degree 3-5 years of relevant experience Ability to read contractions drawings, schematics, details drawings Knowledge of engineering drawings, design, aesthetic, and ergonomic principals Knowledge of warehouse and inventory systems, scientific test methods, FMEA, maintenance, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement
