The designer is responsible for completing design tasks, managing bill of material releases, and overseeing projects from concept to production implementation. They provide engineering support to various departments and ensure all designs comply with customer specifications and manufacturing standards.
Job details
Accountable for completion of design tasks, Bill of Material releases and projects from concept to implementation in production. This will include all related design activities, calculations, communications, drawings and bill of material. Responsibilities: - Completes design tasks and project assignments which support production activities. - Coordinates own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time on each task. - Creates designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities. - Ensures compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations. - Completes or initiates controlled testing of components and installations in order to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit. - Completes technical drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action). - Provides Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required. - Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensures that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications. - Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist designation - 1-5 years in a related engineering role - Manufacturing experience is considered an asset - Strong background in CAD/Unigraphics and drafting - Exceptional teamwork, problem solving and communication skills - Ability to work independently - Required travel to the US (<5%)

Requirements
