OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (0.2 FTE TEMPORARY ) School District No. 42 (SD42) meets the learning needs of approximately 17,000 students of all ages in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows and is defined by its determination to keep student learning and growth at the heart of all its decisions. With an annual budget of over $200M and over 2,000 staff, the school district provides K-12 educational services in 22 elementary schools, six secondary schools, and two alternate schools. It also provides a variety of certificate programs and relevant quality life-long learning opportunities through Ridge Meadows College and Continuing Education. SD42 is looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our Learning Services Team, for a 0.2 FTE Temporary position, effective September 1, 2026, until the return of the incumbent, but not beyond June 30, 2027. Responsibilities Promote, maintain, and develop students’ skills for effective participation in the school environment. Provide services to students with physical, sensory, cognitive, and complex neurobehavioural needs. Conduct assessments, consultations, and program planning to support student development. Support diagnosis, treatment, and selection/adaptation of specialized equipment. Review reports, interview parents/guardians, and observe student needs. Collaborate with educational staff and medical professionals. Deliver in-service training and support for school staff. Coordinate services with community agencies and external service providers. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications A Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Registration or eligibility for registration and possession of a current license with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC.
