952 FTE Music Teacher at Len Wood Middle School and Silver Creek Elementary School This is a temporary assignment effective immediately to June 30, 2027 to cover an upcoming leave of absence. Prior to the start of the leave, you will work as a Priority Music TTOC. A priority District Music TTOC works as a TTOC filling daily dispatch requests created by absent teachers and when needed, fills short-term vacancies. The teacher is prioritized for music vacancies but will also fill other vacancies when needed. This position requires that successful applicants are available to fill dispatches at all levels and schools throughout the district: Elementary, Middle, Secondary. This assignment consists of the following: Elementary Music (K–6) , General Music 6 and Band 7/8. Qualifications Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent; Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch; Orff levels, Kodaly levels or equivalent coursework. Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes: successful experience in Middle Music instruction; excellent classroom management skills; evidence of excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills in working with staff, students and parents; demonstrated ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies and assessment methods; working knowledge of the renewed curriculum for the Fine Arts; commitment to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning; ability to teach ukulele, recorder, guitar, orff, dance and choir; demonstrated ability to work collegially as part of a school staff; comfortable planning and executing school-wide concerts and events; ability to relate effectively to all elementary school students; ability to promote support for a school's Music program; successful recent experience working with students with special needs; current knowledge of and interest in applications of computer technology in the Music classroom. Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent and a valid BC teaching certificate. Proficiency in Orff or Kodaly methods and experience in music instruction are required.
