Position Summary (Temporary position until March 31, 2027 , with the possibility of an extension) The Program Assistant will work in collaboration with SCD Consultants, families and child care providers to promote and support development and ensure the full participation of children who require additional support in child care programs. The service will be delivered in accordance with the principles of Supported Child Development including: inclusion, family-centred care, individual planning, shared responsibility and community-based services. Should there be changes in the level of support required, the hours and location of this position may change to accommodate the needs of the child(ren) and/or child care setting. Summary of Qualifications ECE Diploma and Certificate in Early Childhood Education issued by the province of BC, with preference for candidates with post-basic certificate in Special Needs. Experience working with children who require additional support in a variety of Early Childhood settings and demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles of Supported Child Development. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Terms of Employment Valid BC Drivers license and use of personal vehicle Satisfactory criminal record check Union membership with BCGEU Medical clearance Declaration of immunization status Current First Aid/CPR Certificate

Requirements
Requires an ECE Diploma and BC provincial certification, with a preference for a post-basic certificate in Special Needs. Must possess a valid BC driver's license, personal vehicle, and current First Aid/CPR certification.
