Job summary

DEPARTMENT: Food Services POSITION: Temporary FSW (630-230 & Order Line 45 hours) 3 months+ possible extension. STATUS: Part-Time DURATION: Temporary REQUIREMENTS: Certificate of Food Service Worker Program, Food Handling Certificate, Grade 12 High School graduate or equivalent combination of education. One year of related experience in a kitchen and/or servery is essential. Must be available to workdays, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Must be able to be exposed to noise, high temperature and moisture while working in the dish room, kitchen, and Serveries, as well as temperature and humidity changes when entering refrigerated/freezer and storage areas. Participates in meetings as assigned. Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures and knowledgeable in WHMIS. Good organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Must be team oriented, possess effective communication skills and have a genuine desire to work with the elderly. Must have an understanding of the Residents’ Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards as set out by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. This position will show a willingness to perform routine, repetitive task with frequent interruptions. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to work every other weekend as per current collective agreement. The successful incumbent will complete the tasks for the role of Dietary Aide. Some tasks or functions required of this position may be assigned by the manager. Expectations and/or functions identified on this posting is not limited to the requirements required of this posting. The successful incumbent will be fully trained to complete the required tasks; but is not limited to, other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Food Service Worker Program certificate and a Food Handling certificate, along with a high school diploma. One year of related kitchen or servery experience is essential, and the ability to lift 50lbs is required.
