Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, Program Instructors are an integral part of the Recreation and Culture Division. The Pre-School and Children's Instructor is responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of recreation activities for children ranging in age from 18 months to 12 years old. Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Plan and lead instructional programs for children. * Set-up and Clean-up of any supplies needed for the program. * Communicate with participants and parents. * Report any issues, concerns, or areas of development to the Recreation Coordinator. * Complete class certificates and achievement awards if necessary. * Create a welcoming, safe, and positive environment for all participants. *Note: All activities are expected to be performed in a safe manner, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, along with Corporate Safety policies, procedures and programs. In addition, all necessary personal protective equipment must be used and maintained in good condition. Experience & Qualifications: * Excellent customer service skills. * Experience working with children, preferably in a recreational setting. * Previous experience planning and implementing program plans is considered an asset. * Availability/flexibility to work daytime, evenings, and weekends. * Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certificate or willing to obtain prior to employment. * Vulnerable Sector Police Check is required. * HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Childhood Development (considered an asset). What you’ll do

The instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities for children aged 18 months to 12 years. They must also maintain a safe environment, communicate with parents, and manage program supplies.

Requirements

Candidates should have experience working with children and possess strong customer service skills. A valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certificate is required, along with a successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
